Diptych
Diptych is ceramic project which I was working on during art residency at Guldagergaard in Denmark.
This project can be divided into 3 parts; research on saggar firing, creating textures, and experimenting with additions to clay body.
This project was inspired by medieval wooden plates-diptykon, that were found in Trondheim. By definition diptych can be described as a painting, especially an altarpiece, on two hinged wooden panels, which may be closed like a book. Diptych can be also described as an ancient writing tablet consisting of two hinged leaves with waxed inner sides.
This project was exhibited in Denmark at Guldagergaard, in Copenhagen, and Bergen at Korskirke- a medieval church.
