Knitting pattern in ceramics
During this holiday, I found a roll with motif of marius-knitting pattern. This is one of the most common, most used knitting patterns in Norway. This roll was made for cakes, however I only think “in ceramics”, so when I saw it-in my mind I had immediately pictures of new ceramic objects. Here you can see the results.
Some of them will be soon available for sale in my onlineshop.
There is always the thing about pricing an object. Especially when is hand made. There is no chance for an artist to compete with mass-produced objects for low prices. And this in not my intention either. The prices I choose for my work, may sometimes seems high, however in fact my “salary per hour” is basically around 3dollars.
My art and crafts are unique. I leave the “perfection” for factories. What interest me is individuality and quality.
When a customer buys my crafts or art, it is about the connection between my crafts or an art object and the person. This is the crucial point, where true value is created.
